The college played host to a group of 25 priests, all from the

given by Fr. Eugene McCaffrey, an Irish Carmelite who runs the Tabor retreat
centre in Preston; the rector, Mgr. Denis Carlin, provided input on the
historical context of the mystics and led the customary day excursions
to Avila and Segovia.

A
6th Year group from Holyrood H.S. (Glasgow) came out for a week to practice
their Spanish and soak up the atmosphere in the streets and plazas of
Salamanca. Armed with a questionnaire (in Spanish, of course) they interviewed
passers-by, asking them about their perceptions of Scotland. They also
had the chance to practice their linguistic skills at a mass in Spanish
celebrated in the College chapel.
