The Bishops
of Scotland held their annual in-service gathering in
the college from 7th to 12th January. The imput for their
time of study was provided by Fr Michael McMahon, of Paisley
Diocese and a lecturer in Sacred Scripture at Scotus College,
Glasgow.
The bishops were joined for mass and lunch on Monday 9th
January by His Excellency Archbishop Faustino Sainz Muñoz,
the Apostolic Nuncio to the United Kingdom, who broke
his holiday at home in Madrid to spend some time with
his brother bishops. They also spent a day in Valladolid,
during which they visited the English College, celebrated
mass in Diocesan Centre of Spirituality (formerly the
Scots College), and had lunch in the one of the bodegas
at Boecillo, part of which also used to belong to the
Scots College.
It was a busy few days between prayer time, lectures and
meetings, but the bishops returned home refreshed and
pleased with their stay in Salamanca. |
