Fr Toal went home to Scotland to represent the college
at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Bishop Ian Murray
and Mgr Jack Sheridan. They were ordained together by
Bishop Joseph McGee in the College Chapel in Valladolid
on 17th March 1956 - the first students to be ordained
in college in the post-war era. Both later served as
staff in the college, Mgr Sheridan as Spiritual Director,
and Bishop Murray as both Vice-Rector and Rector. Bishop
Murray's Mass of Thanksgiving was in Oban Cathedral
on 17th March, with Mgr Sheridan's the next day in St
Thomas' Muirkirk. Both have always maintained strong
links with the college and we offer them our heartiest
congratulations and ask God's blessings on their continuing
ministries.
